What isSmartGrow?

Where do you useSmart Grow?

Use SmartGrow anywhere you plant — in hanging baskets, container gardening, potted plants, landscaping plants, bedding plants, and in the vegetable garden. It is effective inside or outside.

How do plants benefit from SmartGrow?

Retained moisture accelerates growth. SmartGrow contains a minimum of 15% nitrogen, which is released over time, providing this essential nutrient to build healthy plants. SmartGrow also contains other nutrients, all of which are essential for growing strong healthy plants. Also, the mat retains moisture, allowing the plant to go longer between waterings.

How often will I have to water my plants?

Less than you do now! SmartGrow naturally retains moisture; it allows excess water to drain while maintaining a moist base around the root ball. In field experiments, the amount of watering required for plants with SmartGrow was decreased by up to 1/3.

How long does it take SmartGrow to work?

Visible results can be seen in as little as three weeks.

Can I still use other fertilizers?

You may, if you want. SmartGrow contains up to seven times as much nitrogen as organic manure, promoting accelerated root, leaf, and stem growth. No fertilizers or chemicals have been added to the mat; the elements present naturally in SmartGrow also provide valuable nutrients to the plant as the mat biodegrades. If you use chemical fertilizers in conjunction with SmartGrow, we recommend a much smaller amount of chemicals than what you would ordinarily use.

Will the SmartGrow mat keep animals from eating my plants?

In an article on Homestore.com, a writer in California stated that as she was planting her tomatoes she placed human hair in the bottom of each hole and covered it with a few inches of soil, then inserted the tomato plant. Every plant produced tomatoes while her neighbors bemoaned the loss of their plants to gophers. Does SmartGrow work on roses?

Can I use the SmartGrow product for my tomatoes?

Absolutely. SmartGrow products retain moisture and contain nitrogen and other vital nutrients which is time released and will not burn plants.

Can I use SmartGrow in a hanging basket instead of a coconut fiber liner?

Yes. The coconut fiber liner does not retain moisture, has no nutritional value, and dries out quickly. SmartGrow mats and rolls provide enhanced moisture retention and nutritional supplements. Many growers and nurseries are using a SmartGrow mat to line the inside of container baskets to enhance plant growth.

Does SmartGrow contain chemicals?
